The Princeton cross country teams host the Princeton Invitational on Friday, Oct. 12 at West Windsor Fields. The men's 8k race is set to begin at 4:30 p.m., with the women's 6k race getting started at 5 p.m.

This will be the first time the Tigers have tested out West Windsor Fields in competition style this season and will be good experience heading into Ivy Heps. The Ivy League Heptagonal Championship will be held on this same course in just two weeks time, on Saturday, Oct. 27.

Teams competing on Friday include: American, Binghamton, Buffalo, Columbia (Women #17), Cornell, George Mason, George Washington, Hofstra, LaSalle, Lehigh, Maryland, Monmouth, Princeton, Quinnipiac, Rider, South Carolina, St. Joseph's, Stony Brook, Temple, Towson, UConn, UMass Lowell, UMBC and Villanova (Women #6).

The Princeton women head into the weekend ranked No. 29 in the latest USTFCCCA national poll. The Tigers have won their last two races, including the annual HYP meet and the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. Princeton will split its squad on Friday sending a group to the Penn State National Open on the site of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. The Tigers have yet to fully expose their top five scorers but this meet could clear things up. After winning Ivy Heps last year senior Gabi Forrest looks to repeat and help her team to its first Ivy Heps title since 2015. Seniors Allie Klimkiewicz, Brighie Leach and Madison Offstein also bring veteran experience.

The men's team is receiving votes in the national poll and began the season ranked No. 23. The Tigers won this meet last year, beating out 20 other squads going 3-4-11-12-14. Only one of those scorers returns, with four graduating last spring. Three of Princeton's five scorers from Ivy Heps return, led by junior All-America Conor Lundy who has competed in every NCAA Cross Country Championship since he arrived at Princeton. Captain Gannon Willcutts and Viraj Deokar are returning all-Ivy League scorers for the 19-time Ivy champs.
