Princeton Opens Up 2018-19 Season With Impressive Win Over Rider

PRINCETON, N.J. – Gabrielle Rush and Carlie Littlefield combined for 41 points as the Princeton Tigers rolled the Rider Broncs, 89-65, at Alumni Gymnasium on Tuesday evening.

Rush set a career-high with 25 points and matched her personal-best with five treys in just 22 minutes. Littlefield fell just short of career high (18), finishing with 16 points. Taylor Baur just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Princeton led by double-digits for the final 35 minutes of the matchup.

Trailing by one, 4-3, Princeton rattled off 15 consecutive points, to jump in front, 18-4, with 4:40 left in the first frame. The Tigers' offense hardly let up, leading by as many as 19, before taking a 30-12 advantage into the second quarter. Rider got as close as 13 in the second stanza, but the Tigers extended their lead to 25 and were never threatened the rest of the way.

Princeton out-rebounded Rider, 37-23. The Class of 2022 registered 30 points as each member that played in the game scored. Head coach Courtney Banghart's group registered 52 points in the paint and 24 points off turnovers.

The Tigers' week continues at George Washington on Sunday (Nov. 11). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
