No. 6 Princeton Pushes Streak to 14 with 5-3 Win Over Merrimack

Freshman Sarah Fillier had a three-point effort, scoring twice, as No. 6 Princeton posted a 5-3 win over Merrimack on Monday afternoon at Hobey Baker Rink.
The win pushes Princeton's unbeaten streak to 14 straight, extending the program record as well as the nation's longest unbeaten streak.
Junior Stephanie Neatby made 35 saves in her second game of the season.
After a fluky goal gave Merrimack the lead just 17 seconds into the game, Princeton bounced back three in the first period and tacked on two more to have a 5-1 edge in the third.
Junior Carly Bullock had a goal and two assists, senior Stephanie Sucharda had a goal and an assist and junior Claire Thompson had two helpers. Freshman Maggie Connors net the game-winning goal in the second. Defenders Mariah Keopple, Sylvie Wallin and winger Sarah Verbeek had one assist each.
Princeton was 1 for 1 on the power play, while Merrimack was 2 for 6 - converting on its final two chances of the game at 16:32 and with a 6x4 extra attacker goal at 19:08.
Lea-Kristine Demers made 17 saves on 21 shots to get pulled in the second period. Samantha Ridgewell made 14 saves in relief.
The Tigers hit the road for the next two weekends, first stopping at Harvard and Dartmouth on Jan. 4 & 5.
