Tigers Close Weekend at Valentine Invitational

Results
After Friday's 2018 Fasttrack Invitational at Ocean Breeze, the Princeton men's track & field team sent a select number of athletes to Boston University's Valentine Invitational.

Freshman Austin Carbone ran in the invitational of the 60-meter dash and with a time of 7.10, he was the seventh fastest collegiate. He went on to post a 22.30 in the 200. In that same race, senior Carrington Akosa ran 21.34 to take ninth place overall and second amongst collegians. This is the second time this season Akosa has clocked the Princeton record of 21.34.

In the 400, sophomore Justice Dixon ran a season bet 49.25 while senior Ramon Ayala clocked a PR in the 800 at 1:56.82

Sophomore Gab Montefalcone grabbed sixth place in the 500 at 1:04.60. It was a PR improving on his 1:04.72.

Racing in his first 1,000 as a Tiger, freshman Sam Ellis put up the second-best collegiate time and seventh overall time at 2:24.60.

Princeton had a healthy number of entrants in the 5000-meter race. Sophomore Conor Lundy had the best time for the team, 14:13.66, in his first time running the event this season to take sixth place overall. One place back was freshman Matt Grossman at 14:14.20. Senior Rob Stone and sophomore Gannon Willcutts ran 14:15.41 and 14:51.64 for ninth and 10th places, and sophomore Viraj Deokar was 17th out the 107 runners at 14:39.83.

Next Saturday, Feb. 17 Princeton hosts the Princeton Invitational at Jadwin Gym while also sending a contingent to Notre Dame's Alex Wilson Invitational.
