Stephanie Neatby did something no other goalie has not done all season - or last season for that matter -Â she posted a shutout against Clarkson. For that reason she is the GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week presented by Suburban Transit.
Neatby stopped all 27 shots she faced against No. 1 ranked Clarkson on Friday. The Golden Knights entered the game with the second-best scoring offense, at 4.10 goals per game, and on a 15-game win streak. It was the first time Clarkson has been shut out of a game since the 2015-16 season.
In just her second year with the Tigers, Neatby already has nine shutouts, a 1.65 goals against average and a .942 save percentage. She was named the ECAC Goaltender of the Year last year, and was a finalist for Rookie of the Year.
Princeton faces Brown and Yale in the final games of the regular-season this weekend. The Tigers need just a solitary point to clinch a place in the ECAC Hockey playoffs.
