Princeton Participates in 2018 Fasttrack National Invite & BU's Valentine Invite

The Princeton track & field teams will compete at the Fasttrack National Invitational on Friday, Feb. 9. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. The men's team will also send a contingent to Boston University's Valentine Invitational on Saturday. The first event for the Tigers on Saturday is the 800 at 10:32 a.m.
Last year at Fasttrack a number of PRs were set included two in the miler by then seniors Lizzie Bird and Katie Hanss. Allison Harris won the pole vault while Julia Ratcliffe was the runner-up in the weight throw with Kennedy O'Dell third. The Tigers recently competed at Penn State's Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup and focused on two-day competition in preparation for Heps for its middle distance runners and horizontal jumpers.
The Princeton men were quite successful at the Valentine Invitational a year ago. Noah Kauppila ran the fastest time in the nation in the 1000 to win the event at 2:21.52 with the sixth fastest time in Ivy League history. Zach Albright hit a PR in the mile at 4:05.91, while Carrington Akosa won the 200 at 21.39. At Fasttrack, August Kiles set a program record in the pole vault with a a 5.42, while junior Wolfgang Beck ran a PR in the 5k. The Tigers were at Ocean Breeze just last weekend for the Villanova Invitational where they won five events, while Akosa ran in the 60-meter final of The Millrose Games.
