Princeton Takes Down No. 1 Clarkson 2-0
February 09, 2018 | Women's Ice Hockey
The Princeton women's hockey team ended No. 1 Clarkson's 15-game winning streak as the Tigers defeated the Golden Knights 2-0 at Hobey Baker Rink on Friday night.
It marks Princeton's first win over a No. 1 ranked team since Nov. 11, 2007 when it topped UNH 2-1. It's the Tigers first win over Clarkson since the 2012-13 season and first win over the Golden Knights at home since Feb. 12, 2010.
"I'm really proud of our team's effort tonight," said Princeton coach Cara Morey. "They put together a solid three periods and executed the game plan perfectly. They played disciplined and won their individual battles. It was a total team effort from our forwards through our defense and her goaltending. We will enjoy this tonight and move on to St. Lawrence tomorrow."
The ECAC Rookie of the Year Carly Bullock scored both goals and with 20 tallies in 26 games ranks sixth in the nation in goals per game. Freshmen Annie MacDonald and Sharon Frankel assisted on both goals.
Sophomore Stephanie Neatby made 27 saves in her ninth career shutout and fifth of the season.
