Princeton Picks Up NFHCA National Academic Team Award

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers were one of 74 Division I programs to earn the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award, the organization announced today.

The Division I National Academic Team Award recognizes those programs that earned a minimum team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the Fall Semester of the 2017-18 academic year.

Brown University posted the highest team GPA with a mark of 3.74 while fellow Ivy League Institutions Columbia University and Harvard University posted team GPAs of 3.66 and 3.63, respectively. The Top 5 was rounded out by LIU Brooklyn (3.59) and American University (3.58)

The Tigers finished 2017 with a 12-7 record, reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals. It was the second straight season that Princeton won at least 12 games and at least one NCAA Tournament game. Head coach Carla Tagliente's squad won the outright Ivy League championship, its 25th all-time. The last time that Princeton did not play in at least the NCAA Play-In Game was in 2004.Â
