Roberts Wins Flight Title as Ivy Plus Comes to a Close
September 23, 2018 | Men's Tennis
Davey Roberts won his flight final Sunday as the Ivy Plus tournament came to a close.
Results from all bracketed matches are available here. Play was moved to Jadwin Gym's six courts due to rain, so not all scheduled matches were able to be played. Any matches on the bracket that do not have a result were not played.
"It was a very successful event and despite rain today everyone was able to get a lot great competition and match play," Princeton coach Billy Pate said. "I'm very pleased with our team in terms of the effort and attitude this weekend. The four freshmen had some solid results and it was great to see Davey win his flight. Ryan played fantastic tennis all week and it was unfortunate he didn't capitalize on the two match points he had at 6-2, 5-3 in the final. Nonetheless, we had very encouraging progress and there's a lot to build on."
Roberts' win came in the Cordish Draw, where he defeated Buffalo's Villhelm Fridell 2-6, 6-3, (10-6).
Play will return to campus in two weekends when the Tigers host the Farnsworth Invitational.
