Lundy Makes Program History, Completing Career First-Team All-Ivy Sweep
November 01, 2019 | Men's Cross Country
Despite placing three runners in the top seven, the Princeton men's cross country team came up just short of its third straight Ivy League title Friday at Van Cortlandt Park.
Penn won the team title with 62 points. Harvard was second with 65 and Princeton was three points behind that in third place with 68.
Freshmen Camren Fischer and Connor Nisbet and junior Conor Lundy were fifth, sixth, and seventh overall to lead the Tigers and earn first-team All-Ivy League honors. For Lundy, the honor makes him the first four-time first-team All-Ivy League honoree in program history, moving past seven other Tigers who earned first-team honors three times.
At the halfway point of the five-mile race, Princeton held a commanding lead with five runners in the top 12 to stand at 42 points, 34 in front of Penn. But, by the last half-mile, Penn had gained a narrow lead, holding on to that advantage to the finish.
