Princeton's DMR Wins At Ivy Heps; Tigers Place Fifth Overall

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Princeton women's indoor track and field squad finished fifth at the 2019 indoors Ivy Heps Championships.
Penn took the title with 136 points. Harvard was second (102), Dartmouth (85) third and Cornell (80) was right in front of Princeton (79). Brown (62), Columbia (55) and Yale (21) round out the field.
Princeton's Distance Medley Relay squad of Peyton Brown, Allison Glossinger, Madison Offstein and Gillian Wagner crossed the finish line first (11:38.16) over a second quicker than the second-place squad.
Obiageri Amaechi snagged second at the shot put (15.29m), nabbing eight points.
Anna Jurew (2:46.25) set a new career mark in the 1,000m (2:46.25), placing third in the event. Her career best is already second in program history. Alie Fordyce (2:50.48) was sixth.
Princeton's 4x400 group of Heide Baron, Hilditch, Ashley Willingham and Carly Bonnet ran the eighth quickest time in Princeton history. It gave them the sixth position in the Heps event.
Jackie Berardo contributed a third-place sprint in the 800m (2:09.41). Alie Fordyce (4:48.08) finished fourth in the mile event while Sophie Cantine was sixth (4:48.68).
The quad of Fordyce, Berardo, Cantine and Jurew (8:56.04) galloped to third place in the 4x800 relay, Princeton's best pace of the winter.
Allie Klimkiewicz put up a 16:32.24 in the 5,000m, setting third while Melia Chittenden was fourth (16:33.14). Chittenden's time was her best mark in the event.
The Tigers improved their point total (65 to 79) and spot (sixth to fifth) in the standings from last season.

After setting personal-records and shattering the Princeton record book yesterday in the 60m hurdles preliminaries, Ellie Randolph (8.513) and Isabella Hilditch (8.516), again, ran fantastic again. Randolph's time matched her personal-best from yesterday while Hilditch broke her personal-best.
