On to Penn …
Slow Start – Princeton's offense started off slowly in the first matchup vs. Penn in January. The Tigers opened up the game with four baskets in the first quarter and trailed 18-11 after 10 minutes. Princeton eventually caught up and took the lead back in the second half, but Penn ultimately won the contest.
Â
Phoebe Sterba – Sterba contributed 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting including five three-pointers against the Tigers in January. Last weekend against Columbia and Cornell, the junior registered 29 points and hit seven treys as Penn picked up its seventh and eighth conference victories. In four meetings against Princeton prior to this season, Sterba scored three total points.
Â
Gabrielle Rush – Over her last six games, the senior sharp shooter has been Princeton's second leading scorer (15.5) while shooting a team-best 38.2 percent from deep. Prior to that stretch, Rush was third on the team in points (12.4) and shot 34.9 percent from the three-point line. Despite not starting before this season, she is ninth all-time in three-pointers made (175) and 10th in program history in three-point field goal percentage (.356).
