Princeton Plays for Ivy League Title and ECAC Lead This Weekend

EYE ON THE TIGERS
A win by Princeton over Brown or Yale this weekend would clinch the Ivy League title for the Tigers, who hold a three-point lead over Cornell with a 6-0-3 Ivy mark. It would be the eighth Ivy League championship for Princeton, who last won in 2016. The Tigers also look to keep the points coming in the ECAC race as they currently sit in a first-place tie with Cornell with 27 points and one ahead of Clarkson with a 12-1-3 record. (side note: Cornell is at Clarkson/St. Lawrence this weekend).

Princeton is ranked No. 5 in this week's national poll, swapping places with Clarkson after the Tigers' first loss since October, which snapped a 20-game unbeaten streak. Overall Princeton is 15-3-5 and is fourth in the D1 in scoring offense (3.61 gpg), sixth in scoring defense (1.87 gpg) and has the second best power play (26.3%).

Freshman Sarah Fillier leads the offense with 38 points in 19 games with 14 goals and 24 assists and ranks second in the nation in points per game at 2.00. She leads all freshmen in scoring and the nation in assists per game overall. Junior Carly Bullock has 31 points on 15 goals and 16 assists in 23 games, while freshman Maggie Connors is nearing the 30-point mark with 17 goals and 11 assists and is third amongst all freshmen in scoring in the country. Junior Claire Thompson is third in points per game for a defenseman with 21 points in 23 games. Sophomore Rachel McQuigge is 9-3-4 in goal and has a 1.72 goals against average and a .933 save percentage. Junior Stephanie Neatby is 3-0-1 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.40 GAA.

THE PRINCETON/BROWN SERIES
Princeton is looking for win No. 50 in the all-time series with Brown, as it holds a 49-29-2 edge in the series. The Tigers have won the last 17 meetings including a 7-2 game in October at Hobey Baker Rink. Brown's last win in the series was during the 2009-10 season.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
Brown is 5-16-2 and on a 16 game winless skid. The teams last win was a 4-3 decision over Cornell. Junior Sena Hanson leads the offense with a third of her team's goals, 12, and four assists for 16 points. Freshman Shay Maloney adds three goals and 10 assists and sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg chips in four goals and six assists. The Bears have split goaltending time between freshman Hayley Kliczko and junior Calla Isaac. Kliczko has an .894 save percentage and a 3.63 GAA, while Isaac has a .907 save percentage and a 3.54 GAA.

THE PRINCETON/YALE SERIES
The Tigers look for the season sweep of Yale, after defeated the Bulldogs 4-1 in October at Hobey Baker Rink. Princeton has won the last three meetings and is 63-15-3 all-time in the series.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Entering the weekend tied for eighth place in the ECAC standings, Yale is in the mix for postseason. Overall the team is 7-15-1 and 6-9-1. The Bulldogs are led offensively by freshman Rebecca Vanstone who has 11 goals and seven assists. Senior Emma Vlasic and freshman Charlotte Welch chip in 15 points apiece and freshman Claire Dalton adds 14. Junior Tera Hofman has started in 18 of 23 games in goal and has a .919 save percentage and a 2.58 GAA.
