Princeton To "Host" Dartmouth At Rutgers To Open Ivy Play

Rutgers' Bainton Field in Piscataway, N.J.
Due to the rain storm, the three-game set got moved to Rutgers' facility. Saturday's doubleheader gets started at 11:30 a.m. while the game on Sunday is set for 12 p.m. There will be no streamed for the weekend. Princeton holds a 99-90 advantage all-time against Dartmouth. The Big Green earned the series sweep last season.
Princeton is currently 3-11 this season, having lost three straight this week at Richmond and Old Dominion. Jake Boone leads the team in hitting at .322 and has four stolen bases along with a .359 on-base percentage. Three other players are hitting at least .260 in Max West, Nadir Lewis and Chris Davis. Lewis leads the Tigers in on-base percentage (.409) and walks (13). Princeton has 14 stolen bases this season after recording 21 last year.
James Proctor has produced the best ERA of the pitching staff, throwing to a 1.76 ERA in 15 1/3 innings. He had a complete game shutout against Georgetown last Saturday. In that game, he struck out 10 hitters and scattered three hits. Ryan Smith has 2.79 ERA with a team-best 23 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings.
Dartmouth is 5-10 this season with wins over UTSA, Fairleigh Dickinson, St. Joe's and Bradley. The Big Green went 17-22-1 in 2018, just missing out on the Ivy League Championship Series with a 12-8-1 conference record. Matt Feinstein has a team-best .286 average and slugging percentage (.411). Max Hunter has been the Big Green's best pitcher in 2019, securing 0.87 ERA in seven appearances.
After this series, the Tigers head on the road for an Ivy weekend at Harvard (Mar. 30-31) and trip to Monmouth (Apr. 3).
