Fillier Captures ECAC Hockey Rookie the Year Award

Sarah Fillier is the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year, it was announced on the eve of the ECAC Hockey semifinals.
Fillier was a finalist for three awards, Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and Rookie of the Year. The Georgetown, Ontario native made history earlier in the week by becoming the first player to ever be named Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year in the same year and won both awards unanimously.
All season long, Fillier collected league and national weekly honors including being a two-time NCAA First Star of the Week, two-time national rookie of the month, two-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month, and four ECAC weekly honors as Player and Rookie of the Week. Fillier is also a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier.
Fillier leads the nation in scoring with 2.00 points per game and is also the leader in assists per game while ranking fifth in goals per game. Entering championship weekend, she has scored 54 points on 20 goals and 34 assists in 27 games. Fillier has had a six-game goal-scoring streak of nine points and a nine-game point scoring streak totaling 23 points. She has had a point in 22 games and 18 multiple-point games.
Princeton takes on Cornell tomorrow in the semifinals at 1 p.m., at Lynah Rink.
