Princeton Wins Two Races at Lake Carnegie, but Harvard Holds On To Compton Cup

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 7 nationally ranked men's heavyweight squad dropped its contest vs. the No. 3 Harvard Crimson at Lake Carnegie on Saturday morning.
With the win, the Crimson hold on to the Compton Cup for the third straight year. Harvard raced out to a time of 5:25.3 while Princeton crossed with a 5.32.8. The 2V group dropped a competitive battle, finishing just 2.9 seconds behind the Crimson. The 3V (5:36.9) continued their perfect season, taking the victory by over four seconds over visiting Harvard (5:41.1). 4V earned the decision in its clash with a 3.2 second margin while the Crimson earned the 5V contest by almost three seconds.
Harvard improved to 4-0 this season while Princeton fell to 3-1 overall. The Crimson now lead the all-time series, 65-16.
Princeton will make the trip to New Haven, Conn., next Saturday (Apr. 27) to take on the two-time defending national champion Yale and Cornell for the Carnegie Cup.
