No. 5 Princeton Secures Three Medals At Eastern Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 5 Princeton men's heavyweight rowing squad had each boat reach the Grand Finals at the Eastern Sprints today.
The 4V had one of the best finishes for Princeton, placing second (6:23.00) to Yale (6:22.39). The group made a furious comeback, trailing by four seats in the final 500m, but just missed catching the Bulldogs.
The Tigers' 3V team had the second-best preliminary time among the 14 squads, winning its heat (6:33.95). 3V went on to secure second place in the final (6:39.16) as Yale won the race (6:36.06).
Princeton's 2V posted a 6:22.912 in Heat three, securing second. The boat went on to nab third in the final (6:30.09) behind Harvard (6:25.93) and Brown (6:28.84).
1V won its heat (6:16.32), good for third overall before a fourth place tally in the grand final (6:28.360). 5V was sixth (6:51.99) as Yale picked up the victory (6:25.16).
The Tigers wait for the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Selection Show on Tuesday (May 21, 7 p.m.) for seeding at the IRA Championships (May 31st-June 2).
