Heavies Send All Four Boats to Saturday's IRA Semifinals

SACRAMENTO, Calif – The men's heavyweight squad had all four boats reach the IRA National Championship Semifinals following the first day of racing.

The men's V8 posted a time of 5:41.56 in its heat, good for second place behind California. The 2V also placed second in its preliminary (5:49.26), just trailing Brown. 3V secured the top score in its heat (5:48.63), almost two seconds in front of Brown. The V4 also won its preliminary race (6:31.72), a time about three seconds better than Boston University.
