Bullock Scores Pair as No. 6 Princeton Completes Weekend Sweep at Brown
February 01, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
Already among the top 10 goal scorers in Princeton women's hockey history, senior Carly Bullock added a couple more to that total and to her outstanding weekend in helping sixth-ranked Princeton to a 4-1 win at Brown and two more points in the ECAC Hockey League standings.
Princeton, now 17-4-1 overall and 12-3-1 in the ECAC, is up to 25 points, standing in second place in the league. With every team in the league now at 16 games into the ECAC season and six to go, Cornell leads with 29 points and with Princeton (25), Harvard (23) and Clarkson (22) in the four positions to host first-round playoff series. Yale (20) is closest in the chase for one of those spots.
After Princeton gave up a Tina Paolillo goal less than five minutes into the game, Bullock had two of the three Tiger first-period goals that had Princeton up 3-1 heading into the first ice cut. The first of those came when she intercepted a pass in Princeton's attacking zone and fired it home just more than five minutes after Brown's goal.
Less than three minutes later, Annie MacDonald found Sylvie Wallin in the slot for a rocket to put the Tigers in front.
Bullock struck again to make it 3-1 with less than three minutes to go in the period. The play began when Maggie Connors took control of a puck along the boards behind Brown goalie Calla Isaac and dished a pass to Bullock inside the faceoff circle to Isaac's left. Bullock sent it in for her fourth goal of the weekend and sixth point of the three-game week.
Connors scored to make it 4-1 before the midway point of the third period, taking control of the puck off the draw and firing it home.
Bullock's two goals lifted her to 83 for her career as she remained in seventh place on Princeton's all-time goals list.Â
The Tigers, unbeaten in seven straight, will return home to host RPI and Union Friday and Saturday at Baker Rink.
