Women’s Track & Field Set For Valentine, Fasttrack Invitationals

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's track & field team will continue its season at a pair of upcoming meets, the Valentine Invitational and the Fastrack Invitational.
Princeton will compete at the Valentine Invitational on Friday, February 14 in Boston Massachusetts. Competition will begin with running events at 11 a.m. The Tigers will take on a talented field that includes over 100 teams, approximately 5,000 athletes and hundreds of post-collegiate athletes. The Tigers will also compete at the Fasttrack Invitational, held on Friday, February 14 inside the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

Princeton is coming off its sixth-consecutive HYP crown, finishing with 67 points to 58 by Harvard and 56 by Yale.
In an evenly matched meet between rivals with a lengthy history, the meet came down to the last two relays. After setting a new school record last week the, 4x400 relay team stepped up again with the with Milana Malec out leaning Harvard's runner at the line for the victory. Joining Malec on the 4x400 relay team was Charlotte O'Toole, Ashley Willingham and Arianna Smith.
Several Tigers have also produced some of the top Ivy performances this season. In the 1,000 meters, Madeleine Sumner's time of 2:48.48 seconds and Sophie Cantine's time of 2:48.72 seconds rank third; both times were achieved at the HYP Meet. Cantine also ran the second-fastest time in the 3,000 meters at the Columbia Challenge, 9:23.93 seconds. Hanne Borstlap's mark of 13'1.75'' in the pole vault also ranks second.
Princeton also sits second in a pair of relays; the 4x400 from the Scarlet & White Invite where the team of Malec, Heide Baron, Smith and Ashley Willingham clocked in at 3:42.05 seconds. In the 4x800 relay Cantine, Maggie Hock, Sumner and Caroline Timm finished in 8:55.71 seconds at the HYP Meet.
Katie DiFrancesco's time of 24.28 in the 200 meters achieved at the Scarlet & White Invite ranks third, as does Charlotte O'Toole's time of 1:14.57 seconds in the 500 from the HYP Meet. Annika Kelly's mark of 59'8.25'' in the weight throw from the Crimson Elite Meet.
