Women's Track & Field Delivers Strong Performances at Fasttrack, Valentine Invites

PRINCETON, N.J. – On a day that saw the Princeton University women's track & field continue to gain momentum heading into Helps, the Tigers competed at the Valentine and Fasttrack Invitationals Friday.
"Throughout the entire season, our women have worked hard and pushed themselves to new levels and have competed fearlessly," said head coach Michelle Eisenreich. "We have put ourselves in a very competitive position going into Heps.
The distance and middle-distance crew traveled to BU with the intention of competing well and hauling in some big PR's and securing strong seed times for Heps and the women delivered! This meet serves as a great barometer for how we will stack up against the league at Heps as all the teams ran their middle distance and distance squads at this meet."
The Tigers delivered several highlights at both meets, including Hanne Borstlap's PR of 4.05 meters with no misses in the pole vault. She bested her previous PR of and showed she is ready to vie for a Heps championship in two weeks. Borstlap bested her previous PR of 4.00 meters from the Princeton Invitational in February 2019.
In the 500 meters, Charlotte O'Toole finished fourth overall, was the top Ivy runner at the meet along with the section winner after finishing in a time of 1:14.17 seconds. Her time was the seventh-fastest all-time in school history. Maggie Hock was the top Ivy runner at the meet in the 1,000 meters after she clocked in at a PR of 2:47.79 seconds, the third-fastest time in school history.
Princeton had a pair of PR's in the mile; Sophie Cantine finished 19th in 4:41.49 seconds, the fourth-fastest time in school history, topping her previous PR of 4:45.33 from last year's Fasttrack Invite. She is now the only women in program history to rank top 10 all-time in the 1K, the mile and 3K. and Madeleine Sumner clocked in at 4:49.15 seconds, besting her previous PR of 4:57.55 seconds to finish 37th.
In the 3,000, India Weir PR'd with a time of 9:36.96 seconds to finish 46th.
