Tigers Fall to Louisiana Tech in Houston Finale

Finishing up the Princeton softball team's season-opening weekend, Louisiana Tech defeated the Tigers 6-3 Sunday afternoon in Houston.
The Bulldogs got on the board in the top of the first with a Marilyn Rizzato two-run homer, but Princeton halved the deficit in the bottom of the second when Adrienne Chang followed a Mackenzie Meyer double with a run-scoring single.
Louisiana Tech answered back with a run in the top of the third when a walk, a sac bunt, a base hit and a flyout picked up a run, but Princeton pulled right back to within 3-2 in the bottom of the third when Allison Harvey singled home a Madison Hamilton base hit.Â
The Bulldogs got the two-run lead back in the top of the fourth with a Madie Green solo homer to pull ahead 4-2, and Louisiana Tech pushed the lead to 6-2 in the fifth on a Jordyn Manning two-run homer.Â
Princeton got its final run in the sixth when a hit batter and a base hit put two on for Ashley McDonald RBI hit.
Harvey and Meyer finished the game with two hits apiece for Princeton.
The Tigers will head to Washington, D.C. next weekend for a total of five games at George Washington against Georgetown, Towson, Morgan State and the host Colonials.
