PNC Student-Athlete Achievers Award History
On February 1, Princeton Athletics recognized its PNC Bank Student-Athlete Achiever Award winners from the Fall 2019 season during men's basketball's victory against Harvard.  Clara Roth of the field hockey team and Andrew Griffin of the football team were selected as recipients for their achievements on and off the playing field. Thanks to our partner, PNC, for their continued support of Princeton Athletics and the student-athletes who represent Princeton.
Clara Roth set career highs in goals (16) and points (43), both of which the field hockey team as the Tigers won an Ivy League championship and reached the national championship game. She led the Ivy League in goals (0.82) and points per game (2.14) while placing second in assists per contest (0.50). She placed inside the Top-22 in the country in those categories as well. A two-time All-American, Roth was named Academic All-Ivy this fall and is a finalist for the Honda Sport Award for field hockey which is presented annually by the Collegiate Women's Sports Awards (CWSA) to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA- sanctioned sports and signifies "the best of the best in collegiate athletics." The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2020 Honda Cup.
Andrew Griffin was named CoSIDA first-team Academic All-American and was selected to the FCS Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team in addition to earning Academic All-Ivy honors this fall. In his first full year as a starter, Griffin caught 34 passes for 490 yards and a team-best six touchdowns. He also tied the Princeton and Ivy League records for TD receptions in a game with four against Bucknell.
