Northeastern to Host No. 6 Women's Hockey Team for NCAA Quarterfinals

For the fourth time in program history, third time in five seasons and second year in a row, the sixth-ranked Princeton women's hockey team is headed to the NCAA tournament.
Northeastern will be Princeton's opponent. The matchup will be one between conference tournament champions, as the Huskies won Hockey East Sunday while the Tigers won the ECAC.Â
The game is set for Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. at Northeastern.
All three of Princeton's previous NCAA tournament games have been against Minnesota at the Golden Gophers' home arena, in 2006, 2016 and 2019.Â
Princeton eclipsed the previous program wins record this season, entering the NCAA tournament with 26 wins to outdo the 22-win team from 2015-16 that also played in the NCAAs.
Northeastern, ranked fourth in the country and seeded third in the tournament, will be its 13th top-10 opponent of the season and sixth such game in a row, including all five games of the ECAC tournament. Princeton won four of those games, culminating in a win at No. 1 Cornell to win its first-ever ECAC tournament title.
Northeastern leads the all-time series between the teams 26-12-2, but the teams have not met since 2011.
Sophomore center Sarah Fillier, a Patty Kazmaier Award top-10 finalist this season, leads the team with 57 points and 35 assists, while senior Carly Bullock has a team-best 30 goals.
