July 25, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
MacKenzie Ebel, Sharon Frankel, Claire Thompson and Sylvie Wallin earned All-America Scholar recognition from the American Hockey Coaches Association, the AHCA has announced.
Ebel, Thompson and Wallin all finished their Princeton career and degrees this year, with Ebel graduating with a psychology degree, Thompson in ecology and evolutionary biology, and Wallin from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Frankel, an economics major, is a rising senior.
Frankel's honor was her third in as many years with the program, while Thompson was also recognized for the third straight year, and Ebel and Wallin for the first time. Thompson was also selected as Princeton's nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, which includes athletic, academic and community service consideration. She earned second-team All-Ivy and third-team All-ECACÂ honors this year and graduated as Princeton's fifth-leading all-time scorer among defensemen, with 87 career points.Â
The four were part of a Princeton team that won a program-record 26 games last season, won the ECAC Tournament title for the first time in program history, and made the NCAA tournament for the second consecutive year.Â
