Last they competed, the Princeton women's golf team won its home tournament, the Princeton Invitational, for the first time since 2007, surpassing the other five Ivy programs along the way.
The Tigers will see two of the other five this weekend as well when the fall season picks up at Delaware's Lady Blue Hen Invitational at Rehoboth Beach Country Club in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Tiffany Kong, Victoria Liu, Karen Kim, Kyung Eun Lee and Sophie Siminoff will be Princeton's five with Caris Kim playing individually.
Harvard and Penn will join the Tigers from the Ivy, along with Bucknell, Delaware State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Navy, Richmond, St. John's, Seton Hall and host Delaware.
The course, set up for a par of 72 at 6,169 yyards, will see two rounds Saturday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and one round Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The event will be the fall finale for the Tigers, who have turned in top-three finishes in each of their first three fall events, all of which had fields of 13-plus teams. With freshman Liu and junior Kong each leading Princeton in at least one fall event, Princeton golfers have turned in seven top-10 finishes on the individual leaderboard so far on the fall. Those seven finishes have seen a combined nine rounds of 70 or better, led by the 66 that Kong carded during the Princeton Invitational to finish just one stroke off a 13-year-old program record of 65.
