In its final tune-up before Heps, the Princeton men's cross country team put forth a seventh place finish among a field of 21 teams at West Windsor. Villanova was first overall with 32 points bolstered by five of the top 12 finishers. Princeton, which had split its squad this weekend with a group competing on Friday in Tallahassee, scored 188 points.
Duncan Miller was top finisher for the Tigers, taking 22nd in 24:58.6 over the 8K course. Harrison Witt was 27th (25:10.6) and Fahd Nasser was 33rd in 25:17.9. Also scoring for Princeton were Connor Livingston (46th; 25:28.7) and Ethan Reese (75th; 25:51.4).
"Overall, this was a good weekend for the team as we head into Heps," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "We got a lot of guys some competitive action, and they put forth tremendous efforts. This is always an exciting event on our home course, and some of our younger runners had a chance to experience a good crowd at West Windsor. The experiences of this weekend will only help us going forward, both in the short term and the long term."
Also competing for the Tigers on Saturday were sophomore Sebastian Fisher (27:02.0) and freshmen Connor Chen (27:13.4) and Jack Kenkel (28:05.1).
Princeton will host the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at West Windsor on October 30.
