PRINCETON, N.J. – A pair of road matches is up next for the Princeton University women's volleyball team, as it takes on Cornell University on Friday, October 8, and Columbia University on Saturday, October 9.
The Tigers are riding an eight-match winning streak, and are coming off a 3-2 (25-20, 26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 15-13) victory over Harvard inside Dillon Gymnasium on Saturday, October 2. On Monday, October 4, senior Julia Schner was honored as the Ivy League Player of the Week after combining for 17 kills and 15 blocks in the Tigers's previous two wins. Her 1.21 blocks per set and 51 total blocks currently lead the conference.
Junior Elena Montgomery leads Princeton in kills with 147, while junior Lindsey Kelly has a team-high 430 assists. Kelly also leads the Ivy League in assists per set with 11.03.
Sophomore Krystal Raymundo leads the Tigers in service aces with 15, junior Cameron Dames in digs with 167.
Cornell
The Big Red has a 4-7 overall record and an 0-3 record in conference play. In its most recent match, Cornell suffered an 0-3 (22-25, 19-25, 22-25) setback against Yale on Saturday, October 2.
Cornell is led in kills by Madison Baptiste with 105, and in assists by Emma Worthington with 340. Kate Stranton has a team-high 16 service aces, while Jackie Baker leads the team in digs with 133 and Sydney Moore in blocks with 32.
Columbia
Columbia is currently 4-8 on the season and 1-2 in Ivy League play. Most recently, the Lions fell 1-3 (23-25, 25-21, 20-25, 24-16) at Brown on Saturday, October 2. Prior to facing Princeton, Columbia will host Pennsylvania on Friday, October 8, at 7 p.m.
Noelle Foster leads the Lions in kills with 164, while Vanessa Pan has team-highs in digs and service aces with 177 and 13. Soah Franklin leads Columbia in blocks with 34, and Cadence Gronski in assists with 453.
