Men's Cross Country Ready For Regionals Friday
November 10, 2021 | Men's Cross Country
Timing/Results
Princeton is set for the 2021 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, heading once again to Lehigh University and the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course. The race is set for 1 p.m.
The top two finishing teams and the four highest-finishing individuals not on teams that advance will earn bids to the NCAA Championships in Tallahassee on November 20.
"There's a good amount of momentum around our group right now coming out of Heps," said head coach Jason Vigilante. "The task right now is to harness that momentum and use it to our advantage at Regionals. This is a tough field, lots of quality runners set to compete. We're excited for the chance to test ourselves and be in contention to advance."
The 2021 Heps champion Tigers enter the weekend ranked No. 18 in the country in the latest USTFCCCA Top-30 and No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Behind Princeton in the regional rankings are No. 2 Georgetown, No. 3 Villanova, No. 4 Navy and No. 5 Penn. The Hoyas are also inside the Top-30 nationally, sitting at No. 29 while 'Nova was receiving votes.
Princeton has competed at Lehigh twice this season, including a win at the Lehigh Invitational in September and a third-place finish out of 40 teams at the Paul Short Run in October. At the Lehigh Invitational to open the season, Princeton had five of the top eight finishers, including Matthew Farrell who was first followed by Josh Zelek and Kevin Berry who were tied for second.
In 2019, Princeton finished third at Regionals – also held at Lehigh. Camren Fischer was the individual winner in the race.
