Bacskai, Tornetta and Yeager Named To United States National Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Princeton Tigers will have three representatives on the United States Field Hockey National Team for the 2021-22 campaign, the organization announced today.

Maddie Bacskai, Julianna Tornetta and Beth Yeager will play for the United States. It's not the first time that Princeton has had three members of national squad as Kat Sharkey, Katie and Julia Reinprecht represented the United States at 2016 Olympics.

Bacskai was a three-time All-Region and First-Team All-Ivy player during her time at Princeton. In 2017, she was honored with a First-Team All-America accolade while also being named Ivy Defensive Player of the Year. She was a three-time captain, two-time Ivy champion and went to three Final Fours. She graduates with 11 goals, six assists and 28 career points.

Tornetta is a two-time All-American, adding three All-Region and First-Team All-Ivy credits. She also collected consecutive NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team honors along with a 2017 Ivy Rookie of the Year laurel. She is a two-time Ivy Champion and went to two Final Fours. She graduates with 18 goals, 33 assists and 69 career points.

Yeager is an incoming freshman in the Class of 2025 from Greenwich, Conn.
