Popper and Neff Earn USA Field Hockey Selections

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sammy Popper and MaryKate Neff were named to USA Field Hockey squads, the organization announced today.

Popper garnered a selection to the U-22 Junior Pan American training squad along with Julianna Tornetta, and Beth Yeager. Popper will play in games vs. Chile from June 30th-July 4th at James Madison University.

Neff was named to the National Development Selection Camp. In this group, she will train and compete this summer against the Junior Pan American Championship Training Squad.

Popper had a wonderful freshman season at Princeton in 2019. She began with an impressive two-goal performance on the road against No. 1 North Carolina. She added three more multi-goal outings, collecting 10 tallies and six assists. Popper collected All-Region First-Team, First-Team All-Ivy and Ivy Rookie of the Year accolades.

Neff saw time in 60 games for Princeton, registering 17 goals and seven assists. She was a three-time All-Ivy player and two-time All-Region nomination.Â
