Three More Tigers Invited to Hockey Canada Summer Events
July 14, 2021 | Women's Ice Hockey
Maggie Connors, Dominique Cormier and Sarah Paul have received the call from Hockey Canada and will head to Calgary to take part in the National Women's Program Summer Showcase.
Connors, a rising junior, and incoming freshmen Cormier and Paul will compete in the event, which will run July 29 through August 9. The trio were among the 43 players invited as part of Canada's National Women's Development Team that will head to Calgary alongside fellow Tigers Sarah Fillier and Claire Thompson '20, who are part of Canada's Olympic Centralization Roster ahead of the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship. The IIHF event has been rescheduled to August 20-31 in Calgary.Â
Connors earned All-ECAC Hockey and All-Ivy League honors in each of her first two seasons with the program, each of which ended with an NCAA tournament berth as well as the Ivy League title in 2019 and the ECAC tournament title in 2020. Over those two seasons, Connors scored 48 goals and added 42 assists, good for 90 points. With two seasons to go, a doubling of those numbers would put her in the top five on Princeton's current career goals and assist lists. Paul, a forward, and Cormier, a defenseman, are two of the three youngest players invited to the event.Â
