Hofstra Takes Top-25 Battle; Tigers at Delaware Sunday
September 16, 2021 | Women's Soccer
Hofstra goals in the 10th and 54th minutes helped lift the 23rd-ranked Pride over No. 22 Princeton on Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium on Thursday night.
Princeton outshot Hofstra on goal, 7-4, but Pride keeper Skylar Kuzmich made all seven saves.Â
While the loss snapped Princeton's six-game unbeaten run to start the season, it was the first time Princeton was shut out since Oct. 12, 2019 against Brown, ending a run of 12 consecutive games in which Princeton scored a goal. Princeton had scored in seven consecutive home games, since a 1-0 loss to Yale on Sept. 28, 2019.
The game was Princeton's penultimate before Ivy League play begins on Sept. 25 against Yale. The Tigers will head to Delaware (3-5) for a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.
