Second Half Rally Pushes Men’s Basketball Past Columbia, 84-69

PRINCETON, N.J. – A 15-0 run in the second half helped the Princeton University men's basketball team overcome a 12-point halftime deficit to overcome Columbia University 84-69, in its Ivy League opener Friday night inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
Junior Tosan Evbuomwan tied for the game-high in points with 22, and added six rebounds, along with a game and career-high six steals. His six steals were the third-most ever in a single game by a Tiger, and he also led the game in steals with four. Senior Jaelin Llewellyn added 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field and 2-for-2 shooting from three, while senior Ethan Wright finished with 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds.
An early 10-0 Lion run saw Columbia take a 15-4 lead with 15:26 on the clock, but Evbuomwan threw down a powerful two-handed dunk with 15:00 left in the half to spark a 6-0 Tiger run, making it 15-10 at 13:09.
Princeton opened the second half with back-to-back three-pointer from Llewellyn and senior Drew Friberg, making it a 47-43 game with 17:01 remaining. A driving layup by Evbuomwan at 17:34 sparked an 8-0 Tiger run; a junior Ryan Langborg layup knotted the score 47-47 with 16:00 left to play.
