Davey, Yeager Named First-Team All-Region; Andretta Is Second Team

Hannah Davey and Beth Yeager are no strangers to being named first-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The two both added to their totals when the 2022 team was announced.

Davey, the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, and Yeager, the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, were both named first-team All-Region, running their combined total to five such honors. Senior defender Gabby Andretta was a second-team selection, her first career All-Region honor.

The next honor by the NFHCA will be the Regional Players of the Year, announced Nov. 30. The All-American teams will be announced Dec. 13, followed a week later by the National Player of the Year.

Davey had a goal and five assists this season while being a force on the defensive end and in transition. The senior has now won three first-team All-Region honors.

Yeager led the Ivy League in goals (12) and points (32), ranking 17^th nationally in goals and 12^th nationally in points. The sophomore has won two Ivy Player of the Year awards and is now first-team All-Region for the second time.

Andretta started every game Princeton played in her four years. She was a first-team All-Ivy League selection in 2021 and a second-team selection this year.

Princeton went 13-5, including 7-0 in the Ivy League, and advanced to the NCAA tournament. The Tigers were the only team all season to score at least three goals against unbeaten NCAA champ North Carolina, who defeated the Tigers 4-3 during the regular season.
