Men's Track and Field Impresses at Joe Handelman Invite

Princeton, NJ – The Princeton men's track and field team had a strong display of talent present on Saturday afternoon at the Joe Handelman Invitational in Jadwin Gymnasium from both underclassmen and upperclassmen athletes.Â

In the Men's 60m, Seniors Ibrahim Ayorinde led the pack. Ayorinde finished in first with a final result of 6.80. Freshman Lorenzo Cagiero took fifth for the Tigers with a time of 7.11.Â

The Tigers dominated in the Men's 60m Hurdles. Freshman Easton Tan rose to the occasion, taking first place with a time of 8.11. Senior, Jovan Aigbekaen took second (8.13) and sophomore Albert Kreutzer finished third (8.26).

A duo of first year Tigers impressed in the Men's 300 m and placed within the top-three. Aiden Silvestri finished in second (36.50) and Isa Hitchens in third (6.54).

Freshman, Greg Foster, had a grand, debut performance in Jadwin for the Men's Long Jump, and managed to finish with a new, all-time Top-10, mark. Foster came in first place, with a result of 7.67 m, placing his performance at the No. 4 best in program history.

Princeton's young talent continued to shine within the Men's Weight Throw. Freshman, Asher Robbins took first place with a result of 16.78 m and sophomore, Avery Shunneson took third with a throw of 14.72 m.

Similarly, within the Men's shot put, a trio of Tigers had an impressive showing to place within the Top-3. Tyler Konopka came in first with a result of 17.08, Joe Licata took second (16.98), and Casey Helm finished third (16.01).

Sophomore, Ilay Furman took first place in the Men's Triple Jump with a result of 13.44 m.

In the Men's High Jump, a duo of tigers placed within the top-two. Seb Clatworthy took first (2.02) and John Hogan placed second (1.93). Â

To wrap up Saturday's meet, Five Tigers had impressive results within the pole vault event to end the meet on a high note.
Simen Guttormsen took first, (5.55) Sondre Guttormsen placed second (5.15), Nicholas Molloy in third (4.95), Philip Kastner in fourth (4.40), and Joey Avallone took fifth (3.80).Â
