
Princeton Men's Track and Field Comes Up Short in Navy Dual Despite Impressive Showings

Annapolis, MD -Â The Princeton men's track and field team put on a valiant effort at the Navy dual meet, with several individuals and relay teams earning top finishes, though ultimately falling to Navy with a final score of 88-92.
In the 60 meter dash, Daniel Duncan blazed to first place with a time of 6.74 seconds, while teammate Ibrahim Ayorinde followed closely behind in second at 6.87 seconds. Ayorinde continued his strong showing in the 200 meter dash, taking first place with a time of 21.30 seconds, with Duncan coming in a close second at 21.51 seconds.
The 400 meter dash saw Anderson Dimon claim second place with a time of 47.98 seconds, securing his spot at #10 on the top-10 all-time Princeton performance list, surpassing his previous time of 48.00 from last year's Wesley Brown Invite. Freshman Joey Gant rounded out the top three at 49.00 seconds.
In the 500 meter dash, Samuel Rodman came out on top with a time of 1:03.23, and Isa Hitchens in fourth at 1:07.67.
The 800 meter run saw Harrison Witt and Jordan Kaplan finish third and fifth. Witt crossed the finish line at 1:53.51 and Kaplan at 1:54.18
In the 1000 meter run, Joe Fast finished in third with a time of 2:28.07and Sebastian Fisher finished sixth at 2:31.84
Jack Stanley and Daniel O'Brien took second and third in the mile run, Stanley at 4:08.17 and O'Brien at 4:08.76
In the 3000 meter run, Josh Zelek finished second with a time of 8:12.49
Easton Tan won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.12 seconds and Jovan Aigbekaen took third at 8.35 seconds.
The 4x400 meter relay and 4x800 meter relay teams both won with times of 3:17.15 (Joey Gant, Kieran McDermott, Sam Rodman, and Anderson Dimon) and 7:40.86 (Ethan Reese,
Jack Stanley, Joseph Fast, and Harrison Witt) respectively.
John Hogan finished with a fourth-place finish in the high jump, leaping 2.00 meters. Philip Kastner also placed fourth in the pole vault, with a vault of 4.35 meters.
Greg Foster dominated the long jump, leaping to victory with a distance of 7.53 meters and duplicating his success in the Triple Jump with a distance of 14.51m.
Tyler Konopka was the champion of the shot put, with a throw of 16.78 meters and Casey Helm came in fourth at 16.24 meters.
In the men's weight throw, Avery Shunneson and Asher Robbins represented Princeton well, placing fourth and seventh respectively with throws of 16.60m and 16.13m.
