PRINCETON, N.J. – Winners of six-consecutive games, the Princeton University men's basketball team return to Jadwin Gymnasium first on Tuesday, December 6 against Lafayette then on Saturday, December 10 against Monmouth.

Last Time Out
Behind a game-high 19 points from junior Matt Allocco, the Princeton University men's basketball team won its sixth-straight game with an 83-63 victory over Drexel Saturday afternoon inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

Allocco's 19 points tied his career-high, and came on 9-for-12 shooting from the field. He also tied the game-high in assists with four, and pulled down four rebounds. Senior Tosan Evbuomwan finished with a double-double of 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting and a career and game-high 13 rebounds, while senior Ryan Langborg added 11 points on 5-for-10 shooting. Freshmen duo Deven Austin and Xaivian Lee both added 10 points, with each shooting 4-for-6. Ausin's total was also a career-high.

As a team, the Tigers shot 35-for-65 (53.8%), and dominated the rebounding battle, 39-23.

With 191 wins as a Head Coach, Mitch Henderson is nine wins away from 200 career wins. He is currently third all-time in wins at Princeton; Franklin (Cappy) Cappon is second with 250, and Pete Carril first with 514.

With 102 made three-pointers in his career, Langborg ranks No. 21 all-time in school history for made three-pointers. This was accomplished in a shortened 2019-20 season and no 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemc. In total, 22 Tigers have exceeded 100 made three-pointers in their career.

With 190 assists in his career, Evbuomwan is 10 away from 200. Evbuomwan's 142 assists in the 2021-22 season were No. 2 all-time at Princeton, trailing only William F. Ryan's 161 assists in the 1983-84 season.

Evbuomwan has had a strong start to the 2022-23 season, leading the team in scoring with 14.3 points on 50.0% shooting. He also leads the team in rebounding with 7.3 per game, assists with 3.1 and steals with eight total.
Allocco Steps Up
Allocco has taken his game to another level this season, and ranks second on the team in scoring with 12.1 points on 55.1% shooting from the field and 42.4% shooting from three. He also ranks third on the team in rebounding with 6.1, second in assists with 2.3 and third on the team in steals with six total.

The Tigers have been one of the best rebounding teams in the nation so far in 2022-23, with their defesnive rebounding percentage of 19.4 ranking No. 1 in the nation. Princeton's 29.85 defensive rebounds per game ranking 14th nationally, and its rebound margin of 8.4 ranking 22nd. Three Tigers currently average at least six rebounds per game; Evbuomwan (7.3), Pierce (6.3) and Allocco (6.1).

Sophomore Blake Peters leads the Tigers and ranks seventh in the Ivy League with a three-point field goal percentage of 43.2%. His 2.0 three-point field goals per game also lead Princeton and rank ninth in the conference.

While Xaivian Lee was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday, November 28, the Tigers' freshman class have made an impact in 2022-23. Against Drexel, Princeton's freshmen scored 15-consecutive points; with 11:40 on the clock, a layup by Austin was followed by a Pierce layup, a Pierce three-pointer, two-straight Austin three-pointers and dunk by Lee.

A 15-0 run late in the first half gave the Tigers an advantage they would not relinquish, as they took down the Leopards 84-73 on Saturday, December 11, 2021, inside the Kirby Sports Center.
