February 10, 2022 | Women's Golf
The first of five events this spring season for the women's golf team is set to begin Sunday when the Columbia Classic Presented by Moon Golf opens at Duran Golf Club in Viera, Fla.
Princeton and host Columbia will be two of the four Ivy League teams in the 15-team field, along with Dartmouth and Yale. Albany, Boston University, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa State, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Texas Tech, Tulsa and Virginia Tech.
In that field are 12 top-100 teams by the Golfstat Feb. 8 rankings, led by No. 2-ranked Oklahoma State. Princeton is in that group, ranked No. 84 nationally.
The teams will play 36 holes on Sunday, with play beginning in an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, and 18 on Monday, with play beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the par-72, 6,383-yard course.
Live scoring will be available here.
Princeton competed in four events in the fall, winning the last two including Delaware's Lady Blue Hen and the Princeton Invitational, with the Tigers winning their annual home event for the first time since 2007.
During the fall season, Princeton broke three times what had been the program record for a three-round tournament, resetting that at 864 with the Princeton Invitational. The record had been 880 entering the fall. Princeton also broke the single-round team score at the Princeton Invite, shooting 280 in the second round to better by six strokes the record entering the fall season.
