No. 3 Princeton Set to Open Howe Cup Friday at Harvard

Princeton's bid for a CSA national title will begin on Friday at 3 p.m. against No. 6 Drexel as the No. 3-ranked Tigers open the Howe Cup tournament at Harvard.
The Tigers will then face No. 2 Trinity or No. 7 Virginia in a semifinal, held Saturday at 1 p.m., or consolation semifinal, held Saturday at 4 p.m. On the other side of the bracket are No. 1 Harvard facing No. 8 Penn and No. 4 Yale meeting No. 4 Columbia. Princeton will face one of those teams on Sunday, either at 11:30 a.m. (consolation), 12 p.m. (championship) or 2:30 p.m. (third-place match).

Princeton was the runner-up at the most recent Howe Cup, in 2020, and last won the tournament in 2009.
This season, Princeton stands 10-2 and closed the regular season on a four-match winning streak. The last of those wins was against Drexel, 5-4 on Feb. 15 on the road.
Junior Andrea Toth, a first-team All-Ivy honoree, has won her last two matches at the top spot, and sophomore Katherine Glaser is 12-0 this season, with the last nine of those wins coming on court six. Rookie Katherine Sapinski is also 12-0, winning her last four matches on court seven.
