Baseball Heads To North Carolina For Series Vs. Purdue

719 days is a long time.

The wait to play for Princeton baseball has been gone through many ups and downs, but now … it's over.

The Tigers head to Holly Spring, N.C. for a four-game series with the Purdue Boilermakers starting tomorrow (1 p.m.). The two squads will play a doubleheader Friday, one game Saturday (2 p.m.) and one game Sunday (1 p.m.).

Princeton is a young team that features one graduate student, Keith Gabrielson, and no seniors. Some top returners include Nadir Lewis, who has a .261/.357/.375 slash line in 184 at-bats, and Eric Marasheski with his 24 hits in 38 games. Some top returning pitchers include Reece Rabin and Eric Hoefer with a combined 31 appearances under their belts.

The captains for the squad are Keith Gabrielson, Brendan Cumming, Noah Granet and Jackson Emus. Gabrielson has seen action in 22 contests while Cumming, Granet and Emus were All-Stars in their respective summer leagues before the 2021-22 school campaign.

Purdue is 4-0 this season, having swept the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. The Boilermakers had five players hit .300 in the series with the pitching staff produced a 3.25 ERA. The series vs. Princeton will not be streamed, but Purdue is providing radio and live stats.
