Women’s Track and Field Impresses on Day Two of the Dr. Sander Invitational
February 05, 2022 | Women's Track and Field
NEW YORK – The Princeton University women's track and field team recorded yet another impressive outing, Saturday afternoon at the Armory.
"Over the course of the weekend, the women demonstrated tremendous competitiveness, winning countless heats," said Head Coach Michelle Eisenreich. "This meet was an important preview for Heps, with many Ivy League teams participating in the same facility where Heps will be held. It was most certainly an opportunity to learn and set the tone for where we expect to be in three weeks."
Three Tigers earned personal records, including Tsion Yared, who's mark of 2:09.40 in the 800 meters lands her eighth all-time in school history. Also running in the 800 was Maggie Hock (2:07.03), who took second place in the event overall.
Meanwhile, Arianna Smith secured a second PR in as many weeks, clocking in at 24.99 in the 200 meters. Madeline Burns subsequently ran a personal best of 4:47.39 in the mile.
Finally, Hanne Borstlap tied for third in the pole vault, with a leap of 3.90 meters.
Next up: The Tigers will compete in both the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and Rutgers Open on February 11th and 12th.
