March 16, 2022 | Softball
A three-game series is ahead for the Princeton softball team as the Tigers will open the Ivy League season by hosting Brown on Saturday and Sunday.Â
Schedule Change:
vs. Brown, Friday, 2:30 p.m. single game | ESPN+ Game 1 | ESPN+ Game 2 | Live Scoring
vs. Brown, Sunday, 12:30 p.m. doubleheader | ESPN+ | Live Scoring
Due to ongoing campus construction, those attending the game are asked to park in the North Garage, which is located off Prospect Street (map), and walk down Fitzrandolph Road to Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field. Parking in Lot 21 is not advised because of the construction between Lot 21 and the softball stadium.Â
The Tigers (5-9) won four of five at UC Santa Barbara's event last weekend in the team's last games before Ivy League play. Adrienne Chang leads the team with a .381 batting average on the season, and Sophia Marsalo earned Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week, hitting .429 (12-28) over the nine-game spring trip. All four Princeton pitchers have seen between 12 1/3 and 32 innings this season, with Ali Blanchard (2-2) and Alexis Laudenslager (2-5) splitting most of the starts.
Brown enters the weekend at 4-9. Alexis Guevara leads the team with a .333 average, and the pitching staff has a 2.66 ERA. Guevara is also the team's innings leader in the circle at 25 and with a 1.68 ERA.
Princeton leads the all-time series against Brown 58-16-1 and has won five in a row over the Bears, including a three-game sweep the last time the teams met in 2019.
