Tigers Take Ivy Softball Opener over Brown

Rallying from an early deficit, the Princeton softball team was a 4-2 winner over Brown on Friday afternoon in the Ivy League opener at Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field.
The teams will meet again on Sunday for a 12:30 p.m. doubleheader at Princeton. The game can be seen on ESPN+ (Game 1 | Game 2).
Two walks, a Kat Clum base hit and a double steal put Brown up 2-0 in the first inning, but that was all the Bears got against Ali Blanchard and Alexis Laudenslager. After three innings from Blanchard, Laudenslager entered and threw four no-hit, shutout innings, walking three and striking out seven to get the win in relief.
Princeton got one run back in the third when Blanchard picked up a leadoff Haley Hoffman single with a double, and the fourth inning was the turning point for the Tigers. Adrienne Chang and Sophia Marsalo started the inning with back-to-back doubles to tie it, and after a Lauren Sablone base hit, Grace Jackson brought both home to put Princeton up 4-2.
