Carroll and Sekulic Collect CWPA Weekly Honors; No. 19 Princeton Heads West

PRINCETON – As No. 19 Princeton Women's Water Polo is set for its West Coast Trip, Kaila Carroll (Player) and Jovana Sekulic (Rookie) were honored with CWPA weekly accolades.
Carroll earned Player of the Week after producing 13 goals, five assists, seven steals, six drawn ejections as Princeton went 4-0 last weekend in CWPA action. She registered six goals vs. Mt. St. Mary's, the first time a Tiger has done that since Feb. of 2020. Carroll also added five steals and two drawn ejections in that contest. The freshman secured seven points including four goals at No. 25 Bucknell and another hat trick vs. No. 24 Brown.
Sekulic was fantastic last weekend, putting up 14 goals, two assists, seven steals and four drawn ejections. The freshman had four goals and two helpers against Mt. St. Mary's, along with three steals. She later added five tallies at No. 25 Bucknell and two steals before following that with four more goals and two swipes vs. No. 24 Brown.
Princeton is currently on a 11-game winning streak and 13-2 overall. The Tigers have not lost any of their six CWPA battles. Head coach Derek Ellingson's group begins its second West Coast trip on Sunday with contests vs. CSUN (4 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. PT) and No. 21 San Diego State (7 p.m. ET, 4 p.m. PT). The Tigers also take on No. 9 Long Beach State Tuesday (10 p.m., ET, 7 p.m. PT) before a battle at Concordia on Wednesday (4 p.m. ET, 1 p.m. PT) before the LMU Invitational (Mar. 11-12).
Carroll leads the team in scoring with 47 points (30 goals, 17 assists) while Sekulic is the top-goal scorer with 35 tallies. The Tigers have nine players with at least 10 goals in Kayla Yelensky (22), Meera Burghardt (22), Rachael Carver (16), Nicole Kresich (15), Kate Mallery (15), Annie Robinson (14) and Laura Larkin (10). Isabel Zaller has 112 saves in 15 starts.
