
Loyola Marymount Takes Two from Tigers as Spring Trip Continues

In game one, LMU started with a two-run homer from Val Pero to get a 2-0 lead in the first, but Princeton answered in the top of the second after two walks set up an RBI double for Sophia Marsalo and RBI singles later in the inning for Madison Hamilton and Haley Hoffman to put Princeton ahead 3-2.

LMU retook the lead in a four-run fourth, with a three-run homer for Alyssa Daniell and another run scoring on a wild pitch. Four more scored in the fifth as LMU benefited from two hits, a walk and a pair of runs scoring on wild pitches on the way to the 10-3 final.
Hoffman led Princeton with two hits in the game while Ali Blanchard and Meghan Harrington split time in the circle.
In game two, Princeton jumped out first with a pair of solo homers from Ashley McDonald and Adrienne Chang as the first career homers for each helped Princeton to a 2-0 lead.Â
LMU answered in the bottom half of the inning with five runs on five hits and a walk. Arianna Jaurequi and Jasmine Sofowora each drove in a run with a base hit, and Georgia Blair doubled to bring home two runs while another scored on a passed ball.
LMU added a run in the second on a Sydney Poole solo homer to take a 6-2 lead, and five runs came home in the third for the Lions on three walks and three hits. Sofowora, Poole and Morgan DeBord each had an RBI hit while an error and a wild pitch scored the other two runs as LMU pushed the lead to 11-2.Â
Princeton got a run in the fourth when Gianna Mavica had an RBI double after a walk to Chang and a Marsalo base hit, and Chang singled in the fifth to drive in an Allison Ha double to make it 11-4.Â

LMU ended the game in the sixth with a Megan Dedrick RBI double on the team's second hit of the inning.
Molly Chambers and Alexis Laudenslager split time in the circle in game two.
Princeton will have Thursday off from competition before beginning a weekend of games at UC Santa Barbara on Friday.
