Baseball Closes Out Road Schedule at Brown
April 29, 2022 | Baseball
Princeton, N.J. — Princeton embarks on its final road trip of the season as it travels to Brown for its penultimate Ivy League series.
The Tigers enter the weekend at 6-27 and 3-12 in Ivy League play after taking one of three against Harvard and a midweek loss to NJIT.
Leading Princeton's offense is leadoff hitter Brendan Cumming. He currently leads the team and ranks fourth in the Ivy League with a .377 batting average. Matt Scannell leads the Tigers with 33 RBI after adding one to his season tally against NJIT.
On the mound, Princeton will likely go with its usual rotation of Jackson Emus, Tom Chmielewski, and Andrew D'Alessio.
Waiting in the bullpen is reigning Ivy League Pitcher of the Week, Reece Rabin. He earned the honor after 10.0 IP with two runs allowed (neither of which were earned runs) on two hits with eight strikeouts in three appearances. He earned his first win of the season with a 5.2-inning appearance against No. 8 Rutgers and earned the save with a clean two frames in Princeton's 4-3 win over Harvard.
Brown enters the series at 8-22 and 3-12 in Ivy League play. Game one will mark the 176th meeting between the two teams, with Princeton holding the all-time series advantage with a 109-62-4 record against the Bears.
All three games, as well as all Princeton home games and remaining Ivy League games, can be streamed with a subscription to ESPN+. Fans can also follow along with live stats provided by Brown, or with updates on Princeton's Twitter and Instagram accounts.
