Introducing The Tiger Field Hockey Class Of 2026
June 15, 2022 | Field Hockey
A group of six athletes who grew up in distances ranging from a short car ride to a long plane ride from Princeton make up the Tiger field hockey Class of 2026. This group, which features two forwards, one midfielder, two defenders and a goalie, joins a hungry team that is looking to regain the Ivy League championship and return to the NCAA tournament after missing out on both of those prizes by the slimmest of margins a year ago.
The six players feature one from Mercer County, the same county as Princeton University, and another from Monmouth County, which borders Mercer. Of the other four, three come from Europe and one comes from South Africa.
"We're excited to have these six join our program," says Princeton head coach Carla Tagliente. "Their presence will create greater competition for positions and playing time and make our entire team better. The returning players will be energized by this new group, which makes us deeper and stronger. We cannot wait for practice to begin."
