Men’s Basketball to Face Navy in 2022 Veteran’s Classic

Veteran's Classic Record Book
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's basketball team will take part in the Ninth Annual Veteran's Classic, and take on the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, inside Alumni Hall.
The Tigers will take on the Midshipmen on Friday, November 11, in a game broadcast live on the CBS Sports Network at 8:30 p.m. ET. In the other game, St. Joseph's University will take on the University of Houston at 6 p.m. ET
"It is such an honor for us to participate in the Veterans Classic and to be guests of the United States Naval Academy," said Franklin C. Cappon-Edward C. Green '40 Head Coach Mitch Henderson. "We are excited to be able to visit such a prestigious and historic place that excels in its high standards of academics, athletics and military performance. Our program is humbled at this invitation and to be experience the daily life first-hand."

Tickets for the doubleheader are now on sale through the Navy Ticket Office at either 1-800-US4-NAVY, by clicking on the TICKETS tab in the masthead of NavySports.com and then selecting BASKETBALL, or by clicking HERE. Reserved tickets for the doubleheader in the lower level of Alumni Hall are $40 and upper level general admission seats can be purchased for $25.

The Veteran's Classic honors our nation's veterans, showcases the U.S. Naval Academy, and is held annually around Veteran's Day. On the day before the game, the Tigers along with the other visiting teams will take guided tours of the U.S. Naval Academy, and immerse themselves in its inner workings.
Princeton and Navy have met 34 times, the last being a 52-36 Tiger victory inside Jadwin Gymnasium on Sunday, December 1, 1977. The Tigers lead the all-time series, 24-10, with the first game taking place in 1904.
Along with the Veteran's Classic, Princeton is also playing in the 2022 London Classic, from Thursday, November 24, until Saturday, November 26 inside Copper Box Arena.
The Tigers are coming off a 2021-22 campaign that saw them win the Ivy League Championship outright, earn a 23-7 overall record and a 12-2 record in conference play, defeat power five opponents South Carolina and Oregon State, and set four new team records.
