
Men's Basketball Outlasts Dartmouth in OT, 93-90

PRINCETON, N.J. – With help from five double-digit scorers, the Princeton University men's basketball team outlasted Dartmouth in an overtime thriller Saturday afternoon inside Jadwin Gymnasium 93-30.
In the victory, which was the 199th of Franklin C. Cappon-Edward C. Green '40 Head Coach Mitch Henderson's career, senior Tosan Evbuomwan led the way with a team-high 20 points, along with a game-high five assists and three rebounds. Senior Keeshawn Kellman added 18 points on 8-for-10 shooting and five rebounds, while freshman Caden Pierce had his second-straight double-double with a career-high 17 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, tying his career-best in that category. Senior Matt Allocco finished with 17 points on 6-for-10 shooting, seven rebounds and two assists, and senior Ryan Langborg rounded out Princeton's double-digit scorers with 11 points and a game-high three blocks.
As a team, The Tigers out-rebounded the Big Green 40-29.
The Big Green raced out to 7-6 lead, but layups by Evbuomwan and Langborg made it a one-point contest, 7-6, with 15:55 on the clock. Dartmouth responded with a 7-0 run, extending its advantage to 14-16 with 12:28 left in the half.
With the clock reading 11:12, a layup by Kellman ignited an 8-0 run that made it a one-point game, 17-16, at 9:24. Shortly after, Pierce sparked a 7-0 run with a layup with 8:49 on the clock, and the Tigers jumped ahead 23-19 with 7:41 remaining in the half after a layup by Allocco.
Another layup by Kellman put Princeton ahead 28-25 at 5:45, but a 5-0 Big Green saw Dartmouth re-take the lead, 30-28, with 4:54 left in the half. The final minutes of the first half continued as a back-and-forth battle, and the Tigers took a 43-40 advantage into halftime.
Dartmouth used a 9-0 run early in the second half to take a 49-45 advantage with 17:33 remaining, until a layup by Pierce at 17:16 halted Dartmouth's momentum. With 16:00 on the clock, the Big Green took a 54-47 lead, but a three-pointer by sophomore Blake Peters followed by a pair of Pierce free throws made it a 54-52 contest with 13:30 left.
Princeton and Dartmouth continued to trade baskets, with six-straight free throws by Evbuomwan, Langborg and freshman Xaivian Lee giving the Tigers the lead, 64-63, with 8:39 on the clock.
The Tigers and Big Green resumed trading baskets, with Dartmouth taking a 76-71 lead with 2:00 remaining, but Princeton closed regulation out with free throws by Evbuomwan and Kellman, along with a three-pointer by Allocco. Regulation ended with the score tied, 76-76.
Overtime began with both teams going back-and-forth; an Allocco three-pointer with 1:36 left to play gave Princeton an 88-85 lead, but Dartmouth responded with a three-pointer of their own and tied it, 88-88, at 1:13. A Kellman layup with 0:59 left along with free throws by Allocco.
Pierce and Langborg gave the Tigers a six-point lead, 93-87, with 0:04 on the clock, and despite a Dartmouth three-pointer with time expiring Princeton would outlast the Big Green, 93-90.
